When London Buses were always on time 1950

Here is a video from 1950 showing two African students on a journey into London on a London Bus in 1950.

There were a lot of hats to be spotted on both men and women.

"Buses run to carefully prepared timetables and are always punctual"
"People wait quietly in line"
"A "cripple" needs much kindliness in his affliction"
"Africans in particular have a great love for children"

Truly a different time.

It is interesting to see that some of the younger women were not wearing hats even though the custom of hat wearing was quite prevalent until the mid sixties.

One of the British Government information films in the Public Domain.
This small collection of public information films from the British government produced during the years 1945 to 1952 is quite entertaining. Topics include public health, travel, traffic, education, and the military. A film of the Berlin Airlift is included.
