John Fredrics Hat
Here is an advertisement for Merito Sherry from 1945 picturing a woman in a fantastic hat. It is truly designer - from John Fredrics yet. No this is not one person but two.
Go to this site to read about hat designers
http://www.hatshatshats.com/milliners.htm
This is what the hatshatshats site says (in part)
John Piocelle and Frederic Hirst, operated their millinery house from the late 1920's to the late 1940's. Their most famous hat was the straw and green velvet bonnet Rhett Butler brings Scarlett O'Hara in "Gone With the Wind."
Visit the site for more info on other famous milliners, including "Mr John"as John Piocelle was called after he split with "Mr Frederic". By all accounts the work of the two men was second to none!
If you want to see the ad in detail right click and open it in a new window - you should be able to read it and see the hat better.
